Il Samsung Galaxy S IV haottenuto la certificazione Platino dagli Underwriters Laboratory per essere lo smartphone elettronico più vicino all’ambiente. La certificazione ricevuta dal nuovo top-gamma di Samsung è disuguale da tutte le etichette UL che ritroviamo in molti altri device del mercato. La certificazione Platinum è il livello più alto per la prova ambientale, conosciuta come ULE110, ricevuta propria dal Galaxy S IV per differenti fattori.
Secondo i test di UL, il caricabatterie del Samsung Galaxy S4 consuma una piccola quantità di energia in stand-by.
La scatola di vendita verrà realizzata con materiali riciclati al 100%, a loro volta completamente riciclabili, inoltre l’inchiostro usato sulla confezione, nei manuali e nelle guide è semplicemente inchiostro di soia.
Samsung è stato spesso vicino all’ambiente e già con Galaxy S III e Galaxy Note II erano state ottenute le medesime certificazioni seppur a livelli inferiori rispetto a quella ottenuta dal nuovo top-gamma.
La valutazione si è basata sui criteri seguenti::
“2.1 These requirements establish multiple attribute sustainability criteria for mobilephones, including the packaging and all components shipped in the box with the mobilephone. Separate requirements for the mobile phone, external power supply, cables and other accessories shipped in the box are included.
2.2 These requirements apply to products that are or will be available for purchase at the time of certification.
2.3 The criteria in these requirements were developed based on the life cycle stages of mobile phones and similar electronics. Sustainability factors considered in these requirements are: materials, packaging, manufacturing and operations, energy efficiency of the external power supply, health and environment, and end of life management. Credit for innovations in these, or other factors not listed, is also addressed in these requirements.”
